November 1st, 2009 was a wonderful autumn afternoon and evening for the Zion Annual Marty Party.  So what is Marty Party?  It is a family event where we celebrate Martin Luther who kicked off the Reformation on October 31, 1517.

This year the Marty Party was held at the Christiansen Farm, where we had fun with activities such as hayrack rides, crafts, roasting marshmallows and hotdogs around a bonfire.  There was hot apple cider and hot chocolate and fun and games for the whole family.  We were even treated to a surprise visit from Martin Luther.

There was a large gathering at the Christensen Farm.  Many families and friends from the church attended the Marty Party. Suddenly there was a visitor from Germany.  It was Martin Luther!

Martin Luther told us a about his story ... He told us about nailing the 95 thesis to the to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg.

And he told us about the Diet of Worms

The kids had fun playing kickball and football.
