Reverand David Preus will be visiting Zion Lutheran Church this Saturday and Sunday April 25th and 26th and teach us about his famlies mission work in the Dominican Republic.  His sermon from Saturday 25 can be viewed here.  More information on Rev. David Preus can be found on his Facebook page ( and at  Parts of this page were originally posted on The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod website.

Rev. David and Jennifer Preus serve the Lord as career missionaries through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in the Dominican Republic. In this role, David plants new churches in this country. He forms and develops groups of believers into mature, self-sustaining and self-replicating congregations through Word and Sacrament ministry. He also helps with theological education as needed and works with local deaconesses in their mercy care ministries throughout the country.

Please pray for the Preus family as they move to the Dominican Republic and begin serving God’s people there. Pray God gives them strength and peace as they transition to life overseas, learning the culture and the language. Ask God to give His wisdom to the LCMS missionary team in the Latin America and the Caribbean region as they seek to share the Gospel with and minister in mercy to the local people, especially with those who are developmentally disabled. Ask God to guide this team as they work to network and centralize mission efforts across this region of the world. Please also pray the hearts of people here in the United States are moved through the power of the Holy Spirit to pray for and to financially support the Preuses so they can “go with” this family on this journey of faith. Let us give thanks to God that David, Jennifer and their family have answered His call to serve in this part of the world.
