Then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. (Genesis 2)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Life is a gift from God. Your life is a gift from God. You have been made in the very image of God. The sanctity of human life.
But our world loves death. Skull and crossbones in art. Death is sung by famous musicians. Tragically the weakest among us receive the most evil treatment. The babies in the womb. For 45 years the stain of legal abortion has resulted in 60 million babies killed. The cry of the baby in the womb.
Christians know the truth. We are given to confess the truth about Jesus Christ our Lord. I am the way, and the truth, and the life. (John 14) We are given to confess the truth of life. Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. (Proverbs 31)
Your life is no accident. In Christ we live, move, and have our being. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139)
Standing for life. Confessing the truth that the baby in the womb is a baby will bring suffering your way. When others speak ill of you for speaking the truth in love, remember Jesus words: “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven. (Matthew 5)
Rejoice in God's gift of life. The God who created you and formed you in your mother's womb. I believe that God has made me and all creatures; that He has given me my body & soul, eyes, ears, and all my members, my reason and all my senses, and still takes care of them.
In Jesus was life, and the life was the light of men. (John 1)
The God of Life came to give His life for the world. Jesus came to rescue you from death. To bring life everlasting. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10)
Life is lived in Christ. Jesus comes to give His life for you. Jesus preaching and teaching gives life. Life flowing from Christ. Jesus is restoring life. Healing the sick. Curing the leaper. Raising the dead. “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11)
As Jesus is on the Cross at Good Friday, life is flowing from His sacred veins. Jesus bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. (1 Peter2)
Jesus is the Crucified and Risen Lord. Your life is lived by faith in Christ, trusting the Lord will take care of you all the days of your life. Sinners are in need of God's life-saving Word of God. The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6)
Gather around God's life giving Word. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. (Matt. 4) Peter declares that there is nowhere else for us to go. “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6) Rejoice in God' s gift of life. Happy living in Jesus now and eternally. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
